UX Researcher
About this role
Our Research team works closely along side Product and Design teams to build financial products that best serve customer needs. UX researchers tackle some of the most complex challenges to gain deeper insights into user behaviors and attitude, how they react to incentives and interact with the world around them. We employ a variety of qualitative and quantitative methods to accomplish our goals, including interviews, surveys, focus groups, field studies, and usability tests. The Research team plays an integral role in crystallizing user problems, and project vision to find inspiring new ways to accomplish our mission to open up financial access to everyone.
What you will do

Partner with our Product and Design teams to identify and prioritize knowledge gaps in our understanding of our users and design research that uniquely contributes to solving for those gaps

Design hypotheses and conduct studies, utilizing methods such as user interviews, ethnographic research, surveys, concept testing, usability testing, and any other methods you find impactful

Define your research roadmap by proposing and triaging research requests from cross-functional partners, aligning with your team on what is highest priority

Find creative and compelling ways to generate and present results and recommendations throughout the company, in order to help cultivate a highly informed and more empathetic organization

Use knowledge of user needs to create empathy for users and build common ground with appropriate stakeholders. Able to follow-up with partners about implementation to understand how findings are being used.

Partner with data analytics partners to provide qualitative context for their quantitative insights
What we look for

Bachelors, Masters, or PhD in human behavior related fields (Economics, HCI, Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, etc.)

2+ years experience in applied product user research, using both qualitative and quantitative methods

Experience with a range of qualitative methods including but not limited to interviews, contextual inquiry, concept testing, usability test, diary studies

Ability to create a research plan including logical formulation of a research hypothesis.

Basic understanding of quantitative, behavioral analysis and statistical concepts

Curiosity to ask, as well as ability to answer product and user experience related questions.

Ability to communicate research results with presentation slides and storytelling

Willingness to take initiative, run with projects, and speak up when support and guidance is needed
